24 Secure your account
Turn on two-factor authentication so a stolen password is not enough to get into your account. It takes two minutes and an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.

- Click your avatar in the top-right corner, then Open profile.
- Under Security, tick Activate two-factor authentication.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or type the code shown under it into the app.
- Enter the 6-digit code from the app in Two-factor authentication code, your Account password, and click Send.
- Save your 10 recovery codes with Copy all or Download .txt, keep them somewhere safe, tick I have saved my recovery codes and click Done.
From now on, sign-in asks for a code from the app. If you lose your phone, use Use a recovery code instead; each code works once. You can regenerate a fresh set on your profile.
